About Me

A graduate of Durham University in Modern Languages, I then gained a Masters in Translation Studies at Leeds before beginning my career with an in-house translator position. After a subsequent period working for Tata Steel Europe and Drax Power Limited, gaining experience of industrial and manufacturing processes, I have worked full-time as a freelance translator since 2012.

I have been fortunate to live in both France and Italy, most recently spending five years as a resident of the northern Italian city of Trento, where I learned so much about the country, its culture and people. In France, I spent several months studying in Chambéry, in the Alps, and Pau, the gateway to the Pyrenees.

Outside of work, I have a huge passion for the mountains and can often be found in the great outdoors when not at my desk. This love for upland areas is reflected in the places I have lived in France and Italy and many of my translation projects.
